College Requires Improvement - Ofsted Report

Central Bedfordshire College had a full inspection in January by Ofsted. Their report is now published and the overall verdict is 'requires improvement'. 

The College is mostly based in Dunstable, but also operates in other towns in Bedfordshire.

The last full inspection was carried out on 15 May 2018, and that also came out as 'Requires Improvement'.

Overall effectiveness at previous inspection: Requires improvement (Good)

To improve, the report sets out four key points for Leaders:
  1. To ensure that the quality of education in apprenticeships rapidly improves. 
  2. To ensure that young learners and apprentices make good progress in improving their English and mathematics skills. 
  3. Provide training for teachers of study programmes to enable them to meet the needs of learners with EHC plans.
  4. Take action to remedy the weaknesses identified in the subcontracted adult provision.
