Special Meeting Being Called Over Town Centre No Waiting Proposals

A meeting of Houghton Regis Town Council (HRTC) Planning Committee has been called for 12th July 2021 to give officers from Central Bedfordshire Council (CBC) an opportunity to explain why they want to bring in parking restrictions.

Councillors in Houghton Regis are as concerned as many residents are in Houghton Regis over proposals from CBC to introduce:

  • No Waiting at any time on various roads including Whitehouse Close, Clarke's Way, Redhouse Court, Park Avenue and Drury Lane.
  • A Residents Permit Parking scheme for Park Avenue.
  • Off-Street Parking Places Variation Order relating to Sapphire Place (opposite foot of Tithe Farm Road)
