Windsor Drive Development Recommended for Approval

Planning News - Windsor Drive site

Planning Application No: CB/18/04641/REG3

This concerns a plan to develop a site adjacent to St Thomas Meeting House in Windsor Drive, Houghton Regis. The plan is to build a 20 unit, 3-storey transitional housing scheme with associated access, parking and landscaping for Central Bedfordshire Council.

Planning officers at CBC have marked the application as "recommended for approval". This is in spite of 59 neighbour objections, a petition signed by 165, and strong objections from Houghton Regis Town Council.

Andrew Selous, MP, has written to CBC asking, “that the relevant planning committee of the Council takes into account my constituents objections to this application before the matter is determined.”

3 full planning applications to build on this site dating back to 2007 have been withdrawn. In 2017 a Regulation 3 application was applied for, withdrawn in November 2018.

A decision will be made by Central Bedfordshire councillors on this latest scheme at their meeting being held at Council Chamber, Priory House, Monks Walk, Chicksands,
Shefford, SG17 5TQ on Wednesday 11 Sept from 10am

Any member of the public who wishes to speak at the meeting or requires further information on this meeting should contact: committeemeetings@centralbedfordshire.gov.uk or call 0300 300 5649.
