Candidates and Polling Stations For 3rd May By-Election Houghton Hall

For a place around the table, a ballot is to be held on Thursday 3rd May in Houghton Hall ward of Houghton Regis Town Council. Polling stations are open from 7am until 10pm.

The council currently consists of 4 representatives for Parkside (2 Community Independence Alliance, and 2 Labour), 4 representatives for Tithe Farm (1 Independent, 1 Community Independence Alliance, 2 Labour), and 5 representatives for Houghton Hall (1 Independent, 2 Liberal Democrat, 2 Labour).

A by-election was held in Houghton Hall in October 2016^, won by Liberal Democrats. The turnout was less than 10%.

While all councillors often agree about most issues, recorded voting patterns do indicate that often the independents and Liberal Democrats combine together and vote contrary to Labour group councillors.

The vacancy was caused by the death of Liberal Democrat, Robin Hines, First Honorary Freeman of Houghton Regis.

The candidates and polling stations for the by-election in the Houghton Hall ward on Thursday are shown below.
