Town Councillors Object to Planning Permission Requests

Town councillors in Houghton Regis were displeased by several applications at last weeks Planning & Licensing Committee, held in their Peel Street offices.

For a retrospective planning application for temporary fencing at the fishing lake, off Lake View, Houghton Regis, councillors wanted more information about why the fencing was needed.

For the Bury Spinney, an application for a 4 bedroom detached house, councillors found fault with a design and access statement, claiming that it was inaccurate.

And, although they had no objection on a retrospective application for an annexe to a home in Arnald Way, they were keen to make comment about the poor quality of planning papers.

Houghton Regis Town Council are a body consulted on planning applications in the parish, but decisions on applications are made by Central Bedfordshire Council.
