VOUCHER SCAM
Bedfordshire Police Officers were reported as dealing with at least two cases where people have applied to a company for a loan, only to be asked to provide money upfront in order to secure it. Needless to say, after the initial money has been found by hard-up residents, the promised loan never materialises and the applicants are left even worse off than before.
Police are warning people that they should never pay up front for a loan and only deal with reputable companies.

CRIME DOWN
Evidence shown by Police to the Houghton Regis Town Council on Monday 1st October night shows that crime levels have fallen in Houghton Regis compared to the previous period.

PARKSIDE VOICE MEETING
A meeting of Parkside Voice took place this evening. This is a group that have met regularly since 2003 to discuss any activities affecting anyone in Parkside, to which all residents of Parkside are invited to attend.
The chairman, Cllr Peter Carrington, read out several notices, including the overall reduction in crime for the area, but warned of forthcoming police staffing reductions, and a redistribution of police staff that will in future be operating from the current police stations. A report was given on the Parkside Voice and HRLCAG Fun Day held last Saturday.
